dotted line Office of Student Conduct

The Office of Student Conduct seeks to treat both victims and accused students with dignity and respect. Any member of the Emory community (faculty, staff or student) can file a complaint with our office. If you would like to report an allegation of misconduct please contact us either by phone or email. A staff member in the office can listen to your concern, explain the conduct process, help you review your options and if necessary assist you with filing a formal complaint.

Our office investigates cases of non-academic misconduct by undergraduate students. Academic misconduct such as plagiarism or cheating can be reported to the school or college in which the student is enrolled. Graduate & professional student misconduct (either academic or non-academic) can also be reported to the school or college in which the student is enrolled. If you are unsure who to contact our office can assist you.

If you or someone you know is a victim of sexual assault the University and surrounding community offer many resources to help survivors. Survivors of sexual assault can receive confidential assistance by contacting Aline Jesus Rafi at (404) 727-1514.  Resources for survivors of sexual assault are also available on theStudent Health Services website.

If you live in University Housing your RA, Residence Hall Director or Area Director are trained to assist you with resolving conflicts and to ensure a positive and safe community. These staff members are also familiar with the conduct process and can assist you in exploring your options.

The Emory Police Department is comprised of sworn law enforcement officers with the same authority as any other police agency to respond to complaints and investigate violations of the law as well as university policy. Our office works closely with Emory police and receives referrals from the police when students are involved in alleged violations of the Code of Conduct. If you have concerns about your immediate well-being, contact Emory police (or your local law enforcement if you live off campus) for assistance. In an emergency situation you can dial 911 for immediate assistance from the police.

The Counseling Center can provide confidential support if you are involved in any kind of traumatic experience, whether as a victim, bystander or even the perpetrator. A common misconception is that only people who are mentally ill can or should see a counselor. This is not true; many healthy people can benefit from working with a counselor to improve their quality of life. The Counseling Center can be reached by dialing (404) 727-7450.

Student Health Services (SHS) offers extensive support to Emory students in the form of medical and pharmacy services. If you have been physical injured or otherwise need medical treatment the staff at SHS can assist you, often at little or no cost.  SHS can be reached by dialing (404) 727-7551.
